Virtual event
Hosted by Wiki Writers

This workshop gives you a chance to understand how a credible Wikipedia page actually gets built, from notability research through to neutral, well-sourced writing. Run by WikiWriters, a Wikipedia Page Creation Agency, we provide an accessible space to help business owners, entrepreneurs, authors, and professionals understand what it takes to meet Wikipedia's editorial standards, whether you plan to write a page yourself or later hire a Wikipedia editor to do it for you. We'll begin with a short session on Wikipedia's core principles, notability, verifiability, and neutral point of view, before moving into the practical side of building a page: sourcing, drafting, and navigating the review process. Topics covered include: Assessing whether a person, business, or organisation meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines Finding and citing reliable, independent sources Writing in Wikipedia's required neutral tone, rather than promotional language Understanding the disclosure rules around paid editing and conflicts of interest What to expect, and what can go wrong, when a page is submitted for review The goal of this workshop is to help attendees walk away with a realistic understanding of the Wikipedia page process, so they can either take it on themselves or make an informed decision about working with a Wikipedia Page Creation Agency going forward.
