A step-by-step walkthrough of creating and publishing an event.
Ready to host? Let's walk you through making your first event on Eventship. It's easy—just follow the 5-step wizard.
Before you start
You'll need a host profile first. This is your public page on Eventship where your events live. Set up your host profile if you haven't already.
Step 1: Essentials
Fill in the basics:
- Title - What's your event called?
- Date and time - When does it start and end?
- Timezone - We'll use your local timezone by default
- Location - Is it in person or online?
- In person: Enter the address
- Online: Add your virtual meeting link (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
- Cover image - Upload a photo that represents your event
Step 2: Agenda (optional)
Add sessions and speakers if your event has multiple time blocks or speakers.
- Create sessions with titles and times
- Add speaker names, titles, and bios
- Skip this if your event doesn't have a structured agenda
Step 3: Tickets
Set up ticket types for your event.
- Choose free or paid
- Set the price (for paid tickets)
- Set a capacity—how many spots do you have?
- Add any registration questions you want to ask attendees
Step 4: Sponsors (optional)
Set up sponsorship packages if you want to offer sponsorship opportunities.
- Create tiers with different prices and benefits
- Set inventory limits per tier
- Sponsors can purchase packages directly from your event page
Step 5: Launch
Review everything and get ready to publish. Then choose:
- Publish now - Your event goes live immediately
- Schedule ticket sales - Pick a date and time for tickets to go on sale
If your event has paid tickets or sponsorships, you'll need to connect your Stripe account before publishing.
What happens next
Your event starts as a draft. You can save and come back anytime before you publish.
Once you publish, your event page is live and shareable. People can start registering right away.
Tips
- You can edit most details after publishing (title, description, image, tickets)
- If you host similar events regularly, you can clone a past event to save time
- Attendees get notified if you change the date or location
