Eventship powers in-person communities, turning events into meaningful connections through AI-powered introductions.
While Big Tech spends billions keeping people on screens, Eventship uses AI to do the opposite. Founded by Hussein Yahfoufi (previously founder of Money Minx, acquired by Arta Finance) and backed by the co-founder of GoFundMe, the VP of Google Pixel, The Human Fund, and others, Eventship is the operating system for in-person communities, where the matchmaking is algorithmic but the handshake is human. In its first year, Eventship's AI facilitated 15,000+ introductions across 1,500+ events run by 460 community hosts.
Eventship is the operating system for in-person communities. Founded in 2025 and headquartered in San Diego, California, the company was built on a contrarian thesis: while Big Tech pours billions into keeping people glued to screens, Eventship uses AI to do the opposite, introducing the right people to each other at real-world events, where the matchmaking is algorithmic but the handshake is human.
The platform gives community hosts everything they need to run their community end-to-end: event pages and ticketing, attendee check-in, member directories, discussion feeds, and AI-powered introductions that turn rooms full of strangers into lasting relationships.
A built-in sponsorship marketplace matches brands with relevant communities based on ideal customer profile and goals, then auto-fulfills benefits like logo placement on event pages and in emails, making community sponsorship as easy to buy as a digital ad.
Eventship was founded by Hussein Yahfoufi, previously founder of Money Minx (acquired by Arta Finance), and is backed by angels including the co-founder of GoFundMe, the VP of Google Pixel, The Human Fund, and others. In its first year, Eventship's AI facilitated 15,000+ introductions across 1,500+ events run by 460 community hosts, and 57% of those hosts started as attendees, evidence of a community flywheel that turns participation into ownership.
Today, Eventship powers communities across the United States, from startup mixers and founder dinners to industry-wide conferences like San Diego Startup Week, San Diego Design Week, and Portland Startup Week.
Founder & CEO, Eventship
Hussein Yahfoufi is the founder and CEO of Eventship. A repeat founder with 20+ years in fintech and software, he previously founded Money Minx (acquired by Arta Finance, where he went on to serve as Product Director) and was CTO at eCapital and OneRoof Energy.
After experiencing the “room full of strangers” problem firsthand, Hussein started the North County San Diego Startup Mixer in late 2023 and built the first version of Eventship’s AI matchmaking to solve it. That tool grew into Eventship, now used by 460+ community hosts running 1,500+ events across the United States, and backed by angels including the co-founder of GoFundMe, the VP of Google Pixel, and The Human Fund.
Based in Encinitas, California, Hussein still personally hosts the North County SD Startup Mixer, making him one of his own platform’s power users.
"Eventship aims to take some of the stress out of professional networking, using artificial intelligence to determine which event attendees would benefit most from meeting each other."
