A Surf Film Night with Groundswell Community Project and Seatrees
Friday, January 22, 2027, 5:30 PM PST – 8:30 PM PST
The Sea House · 246 N Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas, CA 92024, USA
Hosted by The Sea House

Come watch films that will move you. Join Groundswell Community Project and Seatrees for an intimate film night at the Sea House in Encinitas - a curated evening of short films from surf therapy and ocean healing communities around the world. Each film tells a different story about what happens when people who have historically been kept from the ocean find their way to it. Indigenous surfers reclaiming ancestral traditions. Women in Jamaica rebuilding community after a hurricane. Surf sisters in Peru. Practitioners in Scotland. Stories from the field, by the people living them. An evening like this is an opportunity to ask who the ocean is for and to imagine what becomes possible when we build brave, safe spaces at the water’s edge. Bring a Board. Give Back. We are hosting a surf gear exchange at the door. Bring any gently used boards, wetsuits, fins, leashes, or rash guards for exchange. Everything unclaimed goes directly to local surf therapy nonprofits for programming. All proceeds from your ticket supports Groundswell Community Project and Seatrees. Hope to sea you there!
