Jessica Wanamaker, is an experienced business development and sales leader in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors, based in San Diego, California. Her expertise highlights sales strategy development, team leadership, market access, and business management in high-growth biotech environments, cell and gene therapy (CGT), as well as laboratory robotics. She currently serves as CFO/Treasurer of Laboratory Robotics Interest Group (LRIG), focusing on financial structure, sustainability, and supporting innovation in laboratory automation. She has served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Marketing of Excellos (January 2025 – January 2026), where she led efforts to expand market presence in CGT manufacturing. Earlier, she held multiple roles including VP Sales for The Americas (August 2021 – January 2025) and Southwest Sales Manager (January 2016 – July 2018) at MaxCyte, focused on driving the adoption of cell engineering technologies for CGT. Between July 2018 and August 2021, she served as Senior Business Development Executive of Emulate, promoting organ-on-chip technology to pharmaceutical and research sectors. Her other previous experience includes management positions at Cell Signaling Technology, Chemicon / Upstate (now part of Sigma Aldrich - Merck Millipore), and Continental Lab Products (CLP). Additionally, she has been a co-founder and CCO of Lifestyles INFOCUS San Diego (2004 – 2023), designing wellness programs and large-scale conferences for corporate clients. Jessica is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at UCSD Rady School of Management (expected June 2026). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Behavioral Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, both from Northwestern University.
