Port of Long Beach Administration Building · 415 West Ocean Boulevard, Lowenthal Global Trade & Education Center, Long Beach, CA 90802
Hosted by USC Price CNDPS

This is a professional summit and is not open to the general public. It is open to USC students, faculty, staff and alumni, CNDPS alumni, officials and staff from cities and government agencies, and professionals working in public safety, port security, goods movement, and sustainability. The summit team reviews and approves all registrations. Submitting a registration does not guarantee a seat. Join the USC Price Center on National Defense and Public Safety (CNDPS) and the Port of Long Beach for a one-day summit at the Port's headquarters in Long Beach. The day brings together leaders from government, public safety, transportation and industry for three panel discussions, a keynote lunch and time to connect with colleagues from across Southern California. Please register with your work or USC email and include your job title and agency or organization. Registrations from outside these groups may be declined. Security as a Priority As the region prepares for major events, evolving threats, and growing demands on critical infrastructure, security remains a shared priority. This panel will bring together leaders from public safety and government to discuss how agencies can strengthen coordination, protect critical assets, and prepare for emergencies while keeping communities and essential operations moving. Goods Movement The movement of goods through Southern California is critical to both the regional and national economy. This panel will explore the challenges and opportunities surrounding transportation, infrastructure, supply chains, and the movement of goods from ports to communities across the region. Panelists will discuss how government, transportation agencies, and industry partners can work together to improve efficiency, address disruptions, and build a more resilient goods movement system. Sustainability and Resilience Building a sustainable region requires balancing environmental goals with the needs of communities, businesses, infrastructure, and economic growth. This panel will examine how public agencies, utilities, researchers, and industry leaders are approaching sustainability, from clean energy and infrastructure investments to policies that support long-term environmental and economic resilience. What to Expect Registration and a continental breakfast start at 8:00 AM. A boxed lunch is provided, followed by a keynote presentation. An optional harbor tour with Harbor Breeze will close out the day. All activities wrap up by 4:00 PM. Parking is free, and you'll receive a parking pass when you arrive. Space is limited, so please register early. Registration closes Sunday, November 8. If the summit fills up, you can join the waitlist. Program and speakers are subject to change. With support from the USC Price Bedrosian Center, Southern California Edison and in-kind support from the Port of Long Beach.
