Presenting yourself in the U.S. Market: A workshop for international professionals
Saturday, November 7, 2026, 10:00 AM PST – 12:00 PM PST
Del Mar, CA
Hosted by Autumn, Belong Here Co.
You’re great at what you do. But networking in the U.S. can feel like a game nobody taught you the rules to. Does this sound familiar? 😬 “I’m not sure my English is good enough for networking.” → You’ll learn simple, repeatable phrases that work at any level. Clarity beats perfect grammar. 📭 “I meet people at events and never hear from them again.” → You’ll get follow-up templates for LinkedIn and email that turn a quick chat into a real connection. 🙋 “I go to events alone and end up talking to no one.” → You’ll practice in small groups and leave knowing people you can look for at the next event. Arrive at 10 to meet a few people over coffee before we start. This interactive workshop is for international professionals, researchers, and students in San Diego who want to feel confident and be visible at networking events, interviews, and meetings. What you’ll do: Learn the unwritten rules of American self-presentation, and how they compare with what you grew up with Build a clear, memorable 30-second introduction using a simple framework Practice in small, supportive groups and get real feedback Learn what to say after the intro: asking good questions, talking about your work naturally, and exiting conversations gracefully You’ll leave with: An intro you’ve practiced out loud Ready-to-use follow-up message templates New connections from the room An invitation to our WhatsApp community for continued support Who it’s for: International professionals at any career stage, as well as anyone new to U.S. workplace culture. All English levels are welcome. This is a judgment-free space. Hosted by Autumn Garrett, founder of Belong Here Co., who brings 16+ years of experience helping international professionals communicate and connect across cultures. 📅 Saturday, November 7 ☕ 10:00am: Doors open for networking 🎤 10:30am–12:00pm: Workshop 📍 Del Mar (exact address shared after registration) 🎟️ $35, includes light refreshments Spots are limited so everyone gets practice time.
