Join Partnership for Awareness and The San Marino Police Department for a critical community program focused on empowering families and keeping San Marino students safe. This workshop is essential for parents, educators, and anyone with an e-bike or e-scooter rider in their home. The growing number of electronic bikes and scooters means new rules, new risks, and new ways to prevent tragedies. We will cover: The Legal Landscape: The explicit breakdown of California law and local San Marino ordinances regarding different classes of e-bikes, legal age requirements, speed limits, and strict helmet rules. Local Enforcement Hotspots: A realistic look at specific problem areas and behaviors officers observe around Huntington Middle School, San Marino High School, and Lacy Park (riding double, sidewalk speeding, and running stop signs). Safety Scenarios & Wake-Up Calls: Real-world local examples highlighting collision and injury risks. Parent Guidance & Liability: Critical information for families before purchasing, plus an overview of parental responsibility and legal liability. Our goal is simple: to share evidence-based information, foster responsible riding habits, and prevent accidents in our community.
