Say What You Do in One Sentence: An Offer Workshop for Medical Device and Life Science Founders

Most founders cannot explain what they do in one sentence. Write yours, say it out loud, get feedback, and leave with a better one. You have ninety seconds. Can you use them? You have built something difficult. A device, a diagnostic, an assay, a platform. You can explain the physics. You can explain the mechanism, the clinical need, the regulatory pathway. Then an investor asks what your company does, and ninety seconds later they still are not sure. This is not a confidence problem. It is a specification problem. You write specs for a living. Subject. Operating condition. Failure mode. Mechanism. Rated performance. Qualification data. You have simply never written one for your own company. That is what we do in two hours. WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH One page. Six fields. Two sentences you can say out loud without apologising for them. We build it live using The Offer Spec — a datasheet for your business rather than a marketing formula: 1 SUBJECT — who exactly this is for 2 CONDITION — the moment they need it 3 FAILURE MODE — what breaks if they do nothing, in their units 4 MECHANISM — what you actually do, in one clause 5 RATED RESULT — what it delivers, with a unit and a bound 6 EVIDENCE — what backs the rating THE TEST The acceptance criterion is not "does it sound good." It is: can a stranger repeat it back to you twenty minutes later? You will find out that evening. You write your statement, read it to a small group, get real feedback, and rewrite it before you leave. Then Aquillius networking starts at 7:30 and you use it on people who have never heard of you. WHY MONDAY Because you leave Monday with the sentence you use for the rest of the week. WHO THIS IS FOR Founders and technical leaders at medical device, diagnostics, life science and biotech companies. Engineers and scientists especially. You do not need marketing experience. You do not need to be revenue-stage, cleared, or funded. Pre-seed and pre-clearance companies often get more out of this than late-stage ones, because the sentence gets built while the product is still moving. FORMAT Two hours. Taught framework, then four breakout rooms where you actually do the work. There is no pitch in the agenda and no slide deck to sit through. SEATS ARE CAPPED AT 60 The breakout exercise does not scale past four rooms. When the seats are gone, registration closes. If your plans change, please release your ticket so someone else can take it. ONE QUESTION AT REGISTRATION "In one sentence, what does your company do?" It takes eight seconds and it is the raw material we work with on the night. WHEN AND WHERE Monday 17 August 2026, 6:00–8:00 PM. Doors 6:00, we start at 6:15. Aquillius, 10918 Technology Pl, San Diego, CA 92127 Free to attend for Aquillius members and guests. Presented by Lena Viktoria Frenzel, founder of Lucid Strategies — a marketing and sales consultancy for medical device, life science and high-ticket B2B companies.
