Join us Wednesday, September 16, for the first Storyteller Session at The Sea House, featuring artist-shaper Donnie Brink alongside Kelly Foote and Hunter Hulett — the sailors and filmmakers behind Drift Theory. The evening includes an original Donnie Brink art exhibit and surfboard quiver, plus a screening of Drift Theory's latest production. Chris Dodds of SURFER Magazine will interview the guests live, diving into their backgrounds and their unique stories of lives forged from the sea. About the guests Donnie Brink Brink is one of the most distinctively talented surfboard craftsmen in the game today. From raw blank to foiling his own fins — works of art unto themselves — to painting, glassing, and sanding in his little workshop, he does it all. And he does it his way. Kelly Foote Kelly has sailed and delivered 22 vessels without loss, crossed three oceans, and just completed a 4,500-mile delivery passage. He has captained the boats behind internationally recognized surf films — Ugly Duckling, Calypte — with Torren Martyn, as well as the original series Not by Chance, which features some of the most celebrated surfboard shapers and surfers of our time. Kelly is the rare founder who is simultaneously the operator, the creative director, and the main character of his own brand story. Hunter Hulett Hunter leads operations and brand strategy, building the commercial infrastructure underneath the Drift Theory voyages. Together, Kelly and Hunter have built a company where the media engine and the charter product are inseparable — and the impact of each trip creates ripples of inspiration that reach large audiences. Seatrees is stoked to bring the Sessions community together for an evening centered around connection, culture, and giving back to the coast. Sessions supports Seatrees through an optional $1 donation at checkout for festival attendees and we’re excited to build on that relationship with this special storytellers event. Proceeds from each ticket purchased support the restoration of the San Elijo Lagoon in Cardiff, one of California’s largest wetland projects.
