Arlene Doria
About
Hello! My name is Arlene Doria. I am a biomedical engineering graduate student at UCI. I also currently manage Define QA, Inc. We develop consumer guide websites. I do not see the need to hide my personality behind a corporation veil because many of my values are closely tied with the core values of this company. So I've decided to openly share my thoughts and background (and perhaps quirks) to provide a sense of what this company stands for and how we intend to make a positive difference in our community. Define QA, Inc. aims to encourage the growth of global customer feedback to engage in a movement that improves the overall quality of products and services. This value moves in parallel with our support for innovative and accessible education and scientific research to improve the overall quality of human well-being. So who the heck is Arlene? I often get asked about the confusion of where I am from so I might as well just explain it here. I am a proud American citizen and first generation immigrant living in San Diego. I was born on a plateau in Zambia and raised in the mountains of Honduras with a year in the Philippines. My ethnic background is Filipino. My father was an on-the-go mining engineer and consequently, we grew up in mining camps of ex-patriates travelling as low to middle class nomads. I arrived in the US around the beginning of high school. When asked about where was my favorite place to live, my answer often changes. Cultures of every area have influenced who I am. Calling me an Asian Latina or an African American seems to fit in some way! I do know one thing. I am grateful for every place that has given me a home.
