About
I’m an inventor by temperament as much as by occupation. I tend to see the world as a collection of unfinished systems—tools, institutions, habits, assumptions—and I’m happiest when I’m pulling something apart mentally and asking whether it can be made simpler, stronger, stranger, or more humane. My work has centered on redesigning ordinary hand tools, but my interests range widely: AI, language, philosophy, product design, social behavior, evolution, comedy, and the hidden architecture of everyday life. I’ve lived a fairly unconventional path, and that has shaped me. I value intelligence, but not the sterile kind; I’m more interested in wit, perception, moral courage, tenderness, and the ability to look directly at things without needing them prettied up. I can be intense about ideas, but I’m also playful, affectionate, and deeply moved by small acts of loyalty, generosity, and grace. What I’m usually looking for—in friendship, collaboration, or anything else—is a real exchange. I like people who are curious, funny, emotionally honest, and not afraid of depth. The best conversations, to me, are the ones where practical matters and wild ideas can sit at the same table, where one minute we’re talking about how to build something and the next we’re talking about why people are the way they are.
Looking to connect with
Curious, thoughtful people who enjoy real conversation, original ideas, humor, and a little depth. I’m especially drawn to inventors, builders, writers, artists, entrepreneurs, and people who have lived enough life to have become interesting rather than merely polished. Friendship, collaboration, creative exchange, or whatever naturally develops.
