Send a message to the host of an event directly from the event page.
Have a question about an event? You can message the host directly from the event page.
How to Contact a Host
- Go to the event page
- Find the "Your hosts" section in the sidebar
- Click "Contact host"
- Write your message and click "Send message"
How the message is delivered
"Contact host" sends your message as an email to the host's inbox. It is not an in-app direct message, so you won't see it in your Eventship messages inbox after sending.
- The host receives a regular email with your message and your email address as the reply-to.
- When the host replies, their response goes straight to your email inbox — not to Eventship.
- Eventship does not show delivery confirmation or read receipts for these emails. There's no "delivered" or "seen" indicator in-app.
How to know if your message went through
Once you click "Send message" and see the success confirmation, your message has been queued for delivery to the host. If you want to know whether the host has read it, the answer is: only the host knows — Eventship doesn't track that for these emails. Watch your email inbox (and spam folder) for a reply.
If it's been a while and you haven't heard back, you can send another message via the same button, or wait — hosts often reply close to the event date.
Direct messages vs. Contact host
Eventship has two separate messaging paths:
- Contact host (this article) — emails the host. No in-app record, no read receipts. Use this for questions about a specific event.
- [Direct messages](https://eventship.com/help/messaging-and-networking/direct-messages) — in-app chat between two Eventship users. These show read receipts and live in your messages inbox. Available between people you've been introduced to, are in a conversation with, or are confirmed co-attendees.
Requirements
You need to be signed in to contact a host. Your email address is used as the reply-to so the host can respond directly.
