Approval workflows

Manually approve or decline registrations before confirming.

Screen registrations before they're confirmed. Great for events where you want to approve attendees.

Turn on approvals

  1. Go to your event and click Tickets
  2. Find the ticket type you want to approve
  3. Enable Approval required or Require approval
  4. Click Save

You can turn on approvals for some ticket types and not others.

How it works

When a ticket requires approval:

  1. Someone registers
  2. Their registration goes to Pending status
  3. You review their registration answers (if you have questions)
  4. You Approve or Decline the application
  5. They get notified of your decision

Pending registrations don't count toward your capacity. Only approved registrations do.

Review registrations

  1. Go to your event dashboard
  2. Click Registrations or Attendees
  3. Filter to show Pending registrations
  4. Click on each one to see their answers
  5. Click Approve or Decline

Declining a registration

When you decline:

  • The attendee is notified
  • The spot opens up for someone else
  • If they paid, the payment is refunded

Paid tickets with approval

For paid tickets:

  • Attendees pay when they apply
  • Payment is held temporarily
  • If you approve, the payment processes to you
  • If you decline, they're automatically refunded

Tips

  • Use approval for selective events (workshops, cohorts, scholarships)
  • Add registration questions so you can make informed decisions
  • Review pending registrations regularly—don't keep people waiting
  • You can turn off approvals anytime
  • Approved attendees can still cancel later and get refunded
