Turn on Teams for an event
What Teams costs and how to pay $50 to turn it on for one event.
Teams lets registered attendees form teams and invite teammates with a code, and gives you a manager to see and arrange every team. It costs $50 per event.
What it costs
- $50 per event, paid once. There is no subscription
- Once Teams is on, it stays on for that event. You cannot turn it off, and the payment is not refunded. To stop changes, lock teams instead
- Payment is on the web at eventship.com. The Eventship mobile app does not sell Teams
Any organizer who can manage the event, including a co-host, can turn it on.
Turn it on from Manage event
- Open your event on the web and click Manage event
- Under Community, click Attendee teams. While Teams is off, the row shows the $50 price
- In Turn on teams, click Pay $50
- Pay on Stripe. You come back to your event afterwards
When you come back, you see Confirming your payment for a few seconds, then Teams are on. Click Open teams to go to the Teams manager. You can close the dialog while it confirms: Teams turns on as soon as Stripe confirms, and your receipt is emailed to you.
If you leave Stripe without paying, you see Checkout cancelled. You were not charged.
Turn it on when you create an event
- On the Launch step of event creation, switch on Attendee teams · $50
- Publish. Your event goes live straight away
- The dialog that follows says One more step: turn on teams. Click Pay $50, then pay on Stripe
Publishing never waits for the payment. If you choose Later, your event is live without Teams, and you can turn it on any time from Manage event, under Attendee teams.
The switch appears only the first time you publish an event.
After Teams is on
Registered attendees see a Teams section on the event page. You see an organizer card there instead, with Manage teams. See Run hackathon teams or Workshop groups with Teams.
Events that cannot turn on Teams
Teams cannot be turned on for:
- Event hubs, because a hub has no guest list of its own
- Events that register on another site, because Eventship does not know who actually registered there
This applies only when turning Teams on. If an event already has Teams, it keeps them.
