Workshop groups with Teams

Use Teams to split a workshop or training day into breakout groups. In Eventship, each group is called a team, so that is the word you and your attendees see on screen.

If Teams is not on yet, see Turn on Teams for an event.

Set the group size

1. On your event page, click Manage teams on the organizer card. Or click Manage event, then Attendee teams
2. Next to Team size: up to, choose 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10

The same size applies to every group on the event.

Create your groups

Click New team once for each group, and give it a name, such as a table number or a topic.

Put people in groups

You have two ways, and you can use both:

• Place people yourself. Click a group, then click Add next to each person you want in it. Or click Not on a team, then Add to team next to a person, and choose the group. You can place anyone with a confirmed registration, even if they have never signed in
• Let attendees join with a code. Each group has a 6-character code, shown when you click the group in the manager. Share it, and attendees enter it on the event page under Join with a code. They need to be signed in with a confirmed registration

Attendees can also start their own group while groups are unlocked. If you want only the groups you set up, place everyone yourself and then lock groups.

There is no random or automatic grouping.

Lock groups when the session starts

Use the switch at the top of the manager. While it reads Teams are unlocked, attendees can create, join and leave groups. Switch it to Teams are locked, and attendees can no longer create, join, leave or rename groups. You can still move people between groups.

Things to know

• Each person is in one group per event. For a new set of groups in each session, you move people yourself
• Attendees see their own group's members. An attendee who has another group's code can also see who is in that group before joining
• The guest list CSV export has a Team column with each person's group
• Once Teams is on for an event, it stays on
