Register for an event

How to sign up for free and paid events.

It's easy to sign up for events on Eventship. Here's how.

Free events

  1. Find an event on the Discover page or from a link
  2. Click Register or Sign up
  3. If you're not signed in, create an account or sign in (see Sign-in methods)
  4. Fill in any registration questions the host asked
  5. Click Complete registration
  6. You'll get a confirmation email with your QR code

You're all set! Add the event to your calendar.

Paid events

  1. Find the event and click Buy tickets
  2. Choose which ticket type you want
  3. If there are promo codes available, enter one for a discount
  4. Review your order and click Proceed to checkout
  5. If you're not signed in, you can check out as a guest or create an account
  6. Enter your payment information (Eventship uses Stripe for secure payments)
  7. Fill in any registration questions
  8. Click Complete purchase
  9. You'll get a confirmation email with your QR code and ticket

Guest checkout

You don't need an Eventship account to register. You can check out as a guest for free or paid events. Just provide your email and basic info.

Registration questions

Some hosts ask custom questions during signup:

  • Dietary restrictions
  • T-shirt size
  • Experience level
  • Anything else relevant to the event

Answer honestly—this helps the host plan better.

Confirmation email

After you register, you'll get an email with:

  • Event date, time, and location
  • Your QR code (for check-in)
  • Host contact info
  • Details to add the event to your calendar

Next steps

Once registered:

Sold-out events and the waitlist

If a ticket type is sold out but has a waitlist enabled, you'll see an amber Waitlist badge instead of "Sold out."

  1. Click Join waitlist
  2. Fill in any registration questions
  3. For paid tickets, your payment is authorized but not charged yet
  4. You'll get a confirmation email with your position in line (e.g., "#3 on the waitlist")

When a spot opens up, the next person in line is automatically confirmed. You'll receive a registration confirmation email with your QR code—no action needed on your part.

For paid tickets, you're only charged when you get a confirmed spot. If the event fills up permanently, your hold is released.

Tips

  • Register early for popular events—spots may fill up
  • If a ticket is sold out, join the waitlist to get in line automatically
  • Bring your QR code or confirmation email for check-in
  • You can cancel your registration anytime (refund availability depends on the host's refund policy)
  • Check the event details so you know what to expect
